Collette Ishiyama is a jewelry designer based in NYC. After studying painting at Pratt and The Art Students League, Ishiyama’s curiosity for new materials led her to metal work. Her love of dioramas and miniatures propelled her to try her hand at creating jewelry; soon she was apprenticing for leading jewelers and had found her niche.

In 2011, she founded her eponymous line with the intention of reimagining classic motifs through a modern lens. Drawing inspiration from NYC’s architecture, netsukes, curios, animals, Samurai armor, and Egyptian artifacts, Collette creates timeless jewelry from the finest materials.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed and made using traditional jewelry techniques. A master wax carver, Collette painstakingly creates each piece by hand. (This is increasingly uncommon since the advent of 3d printing). We believe that time, skill, and human touch imbue each piece with a bit of magic that can't be replicated by a machine.

We are a BIPOC woman-run company, we are committed to ethical manufacturing practices, and we use recycled metals and conflict-free stones.

In addition to the regular collection, Collette creates bespoke wedding bands, engagement rings, pet jewelry, and heirloom redesigns. Learn more about the custom jewelry here.
